Effects of Bushen Huoxue decoction combined with Mecobalamin in treatment of postoperative patients with lumbar disc herniation
Objective:To observe effects of Bushen Huoxue decoction combined with Mecobalamin in treatment of postoperative patients with lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods:The clinical data of 98 postoperative patients with LDH admitted to this hospital from January 2020 to April 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different postoperative treatment methods,they were divided into control group and observation group,49 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Mecobalamin,while the observation group was treated with Bushen Huoxue decoction on the basis of that of the control group.Both groups were treated continuously for 1 month.The clinical efficacy,the TCM syndrome score,the pain[visual analogue scale(VAS)]score,the lumbar function[Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)score]score,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 87.76%(43/49),which was higher than 63.27%(31/49)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).1 month after treatment,the scores of TCM syndromes such as main symptoms and secondary symptoms in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).1 week and 1 month after the treatment,the VAS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).1 and 3 months after treatment,the JOA scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusions:Bushen Huoxue decoction combined with Mecobalamin in the treatment of the postoperative patients with LDH can improve the total effective rate of treatment,reduce the TCM syndrome scores and the pain scores,and improve the lumbar function scores.Moreover,it is superior to simple Mecobalamin treatment.
