Application effects of swimming in rehabilitation of neonatal bilirubin encephalopathy
Objective:To observe application effects of swimming in rehabilitation of neonatal bilirubin encephalopathy(BE).Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 92 children with BE admitted to this hospital from May 2020 to May 2023.According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group,46 cases in each group. The control group was given routine rehabilitation nursing, while the observation group was given the swimming intervention on the basis of that of the control group. The levels of serum bilirubin[total bilirubin(TBiL),direct bilirubin(DBiL),indirect bilirubin(IBiL)]and brain injury indexes[central nervous specific protein(S100β),neuron specific enolase(NSE)],the milk intake, the sleep time, and the growth and development indexes(body weight, head circumference, upper arm circumference, body length increment)levels 1 month after birth were compared between the two groups before and 7 days after the intervention. Results:After the intervention, the levels of serum TBiL,IBiL,DBiL,S100β and NSE in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the levels of milk intake, body weight, head circumference, upper arm circumference and body length were higher than those in the control group, the sleep time was longer than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Swimming in the rehabilitation of neonatal BE can reduce the levels of bilirubin and the degree of brain injury, increase the milk intake and the sleep time, and promote the growth and development. Moreover,it is superior to simple conventional rehabilitation nursing.
