Effects of Modified Honglong Xiahai decoction combined with conventional Western medicine in treatment of patients with hypertension complicated with carotid plaque
Objective:To observe effects of Modified Honglong Xiahai decoction combined with conventional Western medicine in treatment of patients with hypertension complicated with carotid plaque.Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 80 patients with hypertension and carotid plaque who were treated in this hospital from December 2022 to December 2023.According to the random number table method,they were divided into control group and observation group,40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional Western medicine(Amlodipine+Rosuvastatin calcium),while the observation group was treated with modified Honglong Xiahai decoction on the basis of that of the control group.Both groups were treated continuously for 1 month.The clinical efficacy,the TCM syndrome scores,the blood pressure indexes(systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure)levels,the blood lipid indexes[triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),total cholesterol(TC)]levels before and after the treatment,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.00%(38/40),which was higher than 75.00%(30/40)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the scores of TCM syndromes such as main symptoms and secondary symptoms as well as the levels of diastolic blood pressure and systolic blood pressure in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of TG,LDL-C and TC in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,the level of HDL-C was higher than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Modified Honglong Xiahai decoction combined with conventional Western medicine can improve the total effective rate of treatment,reduce the TCM syndrome scores and the blood pressure levels,and improve the levels of blood lipid indexes in the patients with hypertension complicated with carotid plaque.Moreover,it is superior to simple conventional Western medicine treatment.
