Effects of Bailing capsules combined with Acetylcysteine in treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease complicated with emphysema
Objective:To observe effects of Bailing capsules combined with Acetylcysteine in the treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)complicated with emphysema.Methods:The clinical data of 80 patients with COPD complicated with emphysema admitted to the hospital from August 2020 to August 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods,they were divided into control group and study group,40 cases in each group.Both groups were given routine treatment.On this basis,the control group was treated with Acetylcysteine,while the study group was treated with Bailing capsules on the basis of that of the control group.The clinical efficacy,the TCM syndrome scores,the lung function indexes[forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),forced vital capacity(FVC),peak expiratory flow(PEF)]levels,the serological indexes[eosinophil cationic protein(ECP),nerve growth factor(NGF),basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF)]levels before and after the treatment,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 92.50%(37/40),which was higher than 75.00%(30/40)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the scores of TCM syndromes such as shortness of breath,cough and phlegm,chest tightness,abdominal distension and fatigue in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of FEV1,FVC and PEF in the study group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of NGF,bFGF and ECP in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).During the treatment,there were no obvious adverse reactions in the two groups.Conclusions:Bailing capsules combined with Acetylcysteine in the treatment of the COPD patients with emphysema can improve the total effective rate and the lung function index levels,and reduce the TCM syndrome scores and the serological index levels.Moreover,it is superior to simple Acetylcysteine treatment.
