Effects of modified Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou decoction combined with conventional Western medicine in treatment of children with acute glomerulonephritis
Objective:To observe effects of modified Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou decoction combined with conventional Western medicine in treatment of children with acute glomerulonephritis.Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 69 children with acute glomerulonephritis admitted to the hospital from January 2021 to January 2023.According to the random number table method,they were divided into control group(n=34)and observation group(n=35).On this basis,the control group was treated with conventional Western medicine(Nifedipine+Furosemide),while the observation group was treated with Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou decoction on the basis of that of the control group.Both groups were treated continuously for 1 month.The clinical efficacy,the clinical related indexes(edema regression time,blood pressure recovery time)levels,the renal function indexes(serum creatinine,blood urea nitrogen,1 h urinary red blood cell excretion rate,24 h urinary protein quantification)and the serological indexes[insulin-like growth factor-Ⅱ(IGF-Ⅱ),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),macrophage colony stimulating factor(M-CSF),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)]levels before and after the treatment,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.14％(34/35),which was higher than 76.47％(26/34)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The edema regression time and the blood pressure recovery time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of 1 h urinary erythrocyte excretion rate,24 h urinary protein quantification,serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of IGF-Ⅱ,VEGF,M-CSF and TNF-α in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Modified Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou decoction combined with conventional Western medicine in the treatment of the children with acute glomerulonephritis can improve the total effective rate of treatment,improve the levels of clinical related indexes,and reduce the levels of renal function indexes and serological indexes.Moreover,it is superior to simple conventional Western medicine treatment.
