Effects of Qingqi Huatan decoction combined with Azithromycin in treatment of children with mycoplasma pneumonia of phlegm-heat obstructing lung type
Objective:To observe effects of Qingqi Huatan decoction combined with Azithromycin in treatment of children with mycoplasma pneumonia of phlegm-heat obstructing lung type.Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 120 children with mycoplasma pneumonia of phlegm-heat obstructing lung type admitted to this hospital from February 2021 to February 2023.According to the random number table method,they were divided into study group and control group,60 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Azithromycin,while the study group was treated with Qingqi Huatan decoction on the basis of that of the control group.The clinical efficacy,the symptom disappearance time,the levels of lung function indexes[forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1)and forced vital capacity(FVC)]and the inflammatory factors[C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6)and procalcitonin(PCT)]before and after the treatment,and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was 91.67%(55/60),which was higher than 73.33%(44/60)in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The disappearance time of fever,cough,expectoration and lung rale in the study group was shorter than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of FEV1 and FVC in the study group were higher than those in the control group,the levels of serum CRP,PCT and IL-6 were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Qingqi Huatan decoction combined with Azithromycin is effective in the treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia in the children,which can accelerate the disappearance of symptoms,improve the lung function and reduce the levels of inflammatory factors.Moreover,it is superior to simple Azithromycin treatment.
