Efficiency of combined detection of serum ESM-1 and MMP-7 levels in diagnosis of colorectal cancer
Objective:To analyze efficiency of combined detection of serum endothelial cell specific molecule-1(ESM-1)and matrix metalloproteinase-7(MMP-7)levels in diagnosis of colorectal cancer. Methods:A total of 47 patients with colorectal cancer admitted to the hospital from July 2021 to June 2023 were selected as the study group, and 47 healthy subjects in the hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. The serum levels of MMP-7 and ESM-1 were compared between the two groups and the patients with different clinical stages of colorectal cancer.Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlations among the serum ESM-1 and MMP-7 levels and clinical stage of the colorectal cancer patients. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn to analyze the efficiencies of single and combined detection of serum ESM-1 and MMP-7 levels in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer. Results:The levels of serum MMP-7 and ESM-1 in the study group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of serum MMP-7 and ESM-1 in the patients with stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ colorectal cancer were higher than those in the patients with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed that the serum MMP-7 and ESM-1 levels were positively correlated with the clinical stage of the colorectal cancer patients(r>0,P<0.05).The ROC curve showed that the area under the curve of single and combined detection of the serum MMP-7 and ESM-1 levels in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer were 0.789,0.816,0.902,respectively,and the efficiency of combined detection in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer was higher than that of single detection. Conclusions:The efficiency of combined detection of the serum ESM-1 and MMP-7 levels in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer is higher than that of single detection.
