Influencing factors of epilepsy in patients with acute ischemic stroke
Objective:To analyze influencing factors of epilepsy in patients with acute ischemic stroke(AIS).Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted on 105 AIS patients admitted to the hospital from May 2020 to May 2023.The clinical data of these patients were collected. The epilepsy conditions were statistically analyzed.According to the occurrence of epilepsy, they were divided into occurrence group and non-occurrence group.Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of epilepsy in these AIS patients. Results:Among the 105 patients with AIS,31 had epilepsy with an incidence of 29.52%.There were no significant differences in gender, age, smoking, hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, atrial fibrillation, family history of epilepsy and therapeutic drugs between the two groups(P>0.05).The proportions of the patients with TOAST classification as cardiogenic embolism type, lesion site as cortex, affected arterial system as carotid circulation, oozing blood in the lesion area after stroke, and National Institutes of Health stroke scale(NIHSS)score>4 points in the occurrence group were higher than those in the non-occurrence group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that TOAST classification as cardiogenic embolism type, lesion site as cortex, oozing blood in the lesion area after stroke and NIHSS score>4 were risk factors for epilepsy in the AIS patients(OR>1,P<0.05).Conclusions:TOAST classification as cardiogenic embolism type, lesion site as cortex, oozing blood in the lesion area after stroke and NIHSS score>4 are the risk factors for epilepsy in the AIS patients.
