Children with cerebral palsy are often accompanied with salivation symptoms.If they are not treated in time and effectively,the psychological disorders could be induced for a long time and affected their integration into society.The salivation of the children with cerebral palsy is regulated by autonomic nerves,mainly caused by oral motor dysfunction,dysphagia and/or oral sensitivity disorders,and is related to head control.Currently,the clinical treatment of salivation in the children with cerebral palsy includes anticholinergic drugs,Botulinum toxin injection,surgery,exercise,physiotherapy,traditional Chinese medicine,dental appliance and so on,which can improve the body function and the social psychological state of the children with cerebral palsy and improve their quality of life.
