Effects of autologous serum combined with Sodium hyaluronate eye drops in treatment of patients with dry eye after cataract surgery
Objective:To observe effects of autologous serum combined with Sodium hyaluronate eye drops in treatment of dry eye patients after cataract surgery.Methods:The clinical data of 82 patients with dry eye after cataract surgery admitted to this hospital from March 2022 to March 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment options,they were divided into control group and observation group,41 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Sodium hyaluronate eye drops,while the observation group was treated with autologous serum on the basis of that of the control group.The tear film function indexes[non-contact tear film breakup time(NIBUT),non-invasive tear meniscus height(NITMH)]levels,the inflammatory factors[interleukin-1β(IL-1β),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)]levels,the quality of life[national eye institute visual function questionnaire(NEI-VFQ-25)]score,and the clinical symptom improvement score were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment.Results:After the treatment,the levels of NIBUT and NITMH of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of TNF-α and IL-1β in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the NEI-VFQ-25 scores of the two groups were higher than those before the treatment,that in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,after the treatment,the scores of ocular surface disease index(OSDI),eyelid redness and meibomian gland in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Autologous serum combined with Sodium hyaluronate eye drops can improve the levels of tear film function indexes,the NEI-VFQ-25 scores,and reduce the levels of inflammatory factors and the clinical symptom improvement scores in the patients with dry eye after cataract surgery.Moreover,it is superior to simple Sodium hyaluronate eye drops.
