Application effects of low frequency pulsed electromagnetic field combined with incremental load power bicycle exercise in patients with osteoporosis
Objective:To observe application effects of low frequency pulsed electromagnetic field combined with incremental load power bicycle exercise in patients with osteoporosis.Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 126 patients with osteoporosis admitted to the hospital from May 2021 to May 2022.According to the random number table method,they were divided into study group and control group,63 cases in each group.The control group was treated with incremental load power bicycle exercise,while the study group was treated with low frequency pulsed electromagnetic field on the basis of that of the control group.The clinical efficacy,the visual analogue scale(VAS)score,the Japanese Orthopaedic Association low back pain assessment scale(JOA)score,the Barthel index(BI)score,the bone mineral density,and the bone metabolism index[blood calcium(Ca),alkaline phosphatase(ALP),blood phosphorus(P),parathyroid hormone(PTH)]levels were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment.Results:The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was 95.24%(60/63),which was higher than 80.95%(51/63)in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the VAS score of the study group was lower than that of the control group,the JOA and BI scores were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the bone density levels of femoral neck,femoral trochanter,Wards triangle and lumbar vertebra in the study group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,after the treatment,the level of Ca in the study group was higher than that in the control group,the levels of ALP,P and PTH were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic field combined with incremental load power bicycle exercise in the patients with osteoporosis can improve the total effective rate of treatment,the bone mineral density,the JOA scores and the BI scores,improve the levels of bone metabolism indexes,and reduce the VAS scores.Moreover,it is superior to simple incremental load power bicycle exercise.
