Efficiency of color Doppler ultrasound combined with ankle-brachial index in diagnosis of lower extremity vascular disease in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
Objective:To analyze efficiency of color Doppler ultrasound combined with ankle-brachial index in diagnosis of lower extremity vascular disease in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods:The clinical data of 90 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with suspected lower extremity vascular disease admitted to the hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.Using the results of digital subtraction angiography as the gold standard, the efficiencies of color Doppler ultrasound,ankle-brachial index and combined detection in the diagnosis of lower extremity vascular disease in the patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were compared. Results:Among the 90 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with suspected lower extremity vascular disease,53 cases were diagnosed as positive and 37 cases were negative by gold standard. The color Doppler ultrasound diagnosis was positive in 51 cases and negative in 39 cases. The ankle brachial index showed 52 positive cases and 38 negative cases. The combined detection showed 52 positive cases and 38 negative cases. The sensitivity, the specificity, the accuracy, the positive predictive value and the negative predictive value of color Doppler ultrasound combined with ankle-brachial index in the diagnosis of lower extremity vascular disease in the patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were higher than those of the two single tests, the missed diagnosis rate and the misdiagnosis rate were lower than those of the two single tests, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The efficiency of color Doppler ultrasound combined with ankle-brachial index in the diagnosis of lower extremity vascular disease in the patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus is higher than that of single detection.
