Comparison of effects of endoscopic cold snare polypectomy and hot snare polypectomy in treatment of patients with colorectal polyps
Objective:To compare effects of endoscopic cold snare polypectomy and hot snare polypectomy in treatment of patients with colorectal polyps. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 109 patients with colorectal polyps admitted to this hospital from February 2021 to February 2023.According to the random number table method, they were divided into a control group of 54 cases and a study group of 55 cases. The control group was treated with endoscopic hot snare polypectomy(HSP),while the study group was treated with endoscopic cold snare polypectomy(CSP).The levels of operation-related indicators, the use of titanium clips, the incidence of complications, and the recurrence rate were compared between the two groups. Results:The operation time and the single polyp resection time of the study group were shorter than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the complete resection rate and the specimen recovery rate between the two groups(P>0.05).The average number of titanium clips and the utilization rate of titanium clips in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the incidence of complications and the recurrence rate between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:CSP in the treatment of the patients with colorectal polyps can shorten the operation time and the single polyp resection time and reduce the average number of titanium clips and the utilization rate of titanium clips. Moreover,it is superior to HSP treatment.
