Effects of Ornidazole mixture combined with one-time root canal filling in treatment of patients with dental pulp disease
Objective:To observe effects of Ornidazole mixture combined with one-time root canal filling in treatment of patients with dental pulp disease.Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 66 patients with dental pulp disease admitted to this hospital from January 2021 to August 2023.According to the random number table method,they were divided into control group and study group,33 cases in each group.The control group was treated with one-time root canal filling,while the study group was treated with Ornidazole mixture on the basis of that of the control group.The clinical efficacy,the periodontal index[gingival index(GI),gingival sulcus bleeding index(BI),plaque index(PLI),probing depth(PD)],the chewing function(masticatory efficiency,bite force)levels before and after the treatment,and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 93.94%(31/33),which was higher than 75.76%(25/33)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of PLI,SBI,GI and PD in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,those in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The masticatory efficiency and the bite force of the two groups were higher than those before the treatment,those in the study group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Ornidazole mixture combined with one-time root canal filling can improve the clinical efficacy,the periodontal index levels and the chewing function of the patients with dental pulp disease.Moreover,it is superior to simple one-time root canal filling treatment.
