Objective:To analyze efficiency of transcranial Doppler ultrasound combined with carotid ultrasound in diagnosis of ischemic stroke. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 100 patients with suspected ischemic stroke admitted to the hospital from June 2022 to June 2023.Transcranial Doppler ultrasound, carotid ultrasound and digital subtraction angiography were performed in all patients.Using the results of digital subtraction angiography as the gold standard, the efficiencies of carotid ultrasound, transcranial Doppler ultrasound single and combined examinations in the diagnosis of ischemic stroke were compared. Results:Among the 100 patients with suspected ischemic stroke,70 cases were diagnosed as positive and 30 cases were negative by digital subtraction angiography.Carotid ultrasound confirmed 63 positive cases and 37 negative cases.Transcranial Doppler ultrasound confirmed 65 positive cases and 35 negative cases.Transcranial Doppler ultrasound combined with carotid ultrasound confirmed 68 positive cases and 32 negative cases. The sensitivity, the accuracy and the negative predictive value of transcranial Doppler ultrasound combined with carotid ultrasound in the diagnosis of ischemic stroke were higher than those of the two single examinations, the missed diagnosis rate was lower than that of the two single examinations, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The efficiency of transcranial Doppler ultrasound combined with carotid ultrasound in the diagnosis of ischemic stroke is higher than that of the two single examinations.
