Effects of Lipoic acid combined with Candesartan cilexetil in treatment of patients with diabetic nephropathy
Objective:To observe effects of Lipoic acid combined with Candesartan cilexetil in treatment of patients with diabetic nephropathy(DN).Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 70 patients with DN admitted to this hospital from February 2022 to April 2023.According to the random number table method,they were divided into control group and study group,35 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Candesartan cilexetil,while the study group was treated with Lipoic acid on the basis of that of the control group.The clinical efficacy,the levels of blood glucose indexes[fasting blood glucose(FPG),2 h postprandial blood glucose(2hPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c)],the oxidative stress indexes[superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde(MDA),total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)],and the renal function indexes[urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER),urea nitrogen(BUN),cystatin C(CysC)]before and after the treatment,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 97.14%(34/35),which was higher than 77.14%(27/35)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of FPG,2hPG and HbA1c in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,but there were no difference between the two groups(P>0.05).After the treatment,the levels of serum SOD and T-AOC in the study group were higher than those in the control group,the level of serum MDA was lower than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of serum CysC,BUN and UAER in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Lipoic acid combined with Candesartan cilexetil in the treatment of the DN patients can improve the total effective rate of treatment,improve the levels of oxidative stress indexes,and reduce the levels of renal function indexes.Moreover,it is superior to simple Candesartan cilexetil treatment.
