Effects of recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor eye drops combined with Diclofenac sodium eye drops in treatment of patients with evaporative dry eye caused by meibomian gland dysfunction
Objective:To observe effects of recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor eye drops combined with Diclofenac sodium eye drops in treatment of patients with evaporative dry eye caused by meibomian gland dysfunction.Methods:The clinical data of 60 patients with evaporative dry eye caused by meibomian gland dysfunction admitted to this hospital from January 2021 to August 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods,they were divided into control group and observation group,30 cases in each group.Both groups were treated with Saline atomization.On this basis,the control group was treated with Diclofenac sodium eye drops,while the observation group was treated with recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor eye drops on the basis of that of the control group.Both groups were treated for 2 weeks.The clinical efficacy,the clinical symptoms[ocular surface disease index(OSDI)]score,the tear film function indexes[tear film break-up time(BUT),tear secretion test(SIT)]levels before and after the treatment,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.33%(28/30),which was higher than 70.00%(21/30)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the OSDI score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the BUT and SIT values of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor eye drops combined with Diclofenac sodium eye drops in the treatment of the patients with evaporative dry eye caused by meibomian gland dysfunction can improve the total effective rate of treatment,reduce the clinical symptom scores,and improve the levels of tear film function indexes.Moreover,it is superior to simple Diclofenac sodium eye drops treatment.
