Application effects of adjustable weight-bearing brace in postoperative rehabilitation patients with osteoporotic femoral intertrochanteric fractures
Objective:To observe application effects of adjustable weight-bearing brace in postoperative rehabilitation patients with osteoporotic femoral intertrochanteric fractures. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 94 patients with osteoporotic femoral intertrochanteric fractures admitted to the hospital from January 2022 to January 2023.According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group,47 cases in each group. The control group received routine rehabilitation training, while the observation group received the adjustable weight-bearing brace training on the basis of that of the control group. The hip function(Harris score)score before and after the training, the limb weight-bearing ability score, the pain degree[visual analogue scale(VAS)]score, and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results:After the training, the levels of deformity, range of motion, pain, function and the total Harris scores of the two groups were higher than those before the training, those in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).1 and 3 months after the training, the weight-bearing ability scores of the affected limb in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the VAS scores were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Furthe,the incidence of complications in the observation group was 8.51%(4/47),which was lower than 29.78%(14/47)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:On the basis of the routine rehabilitation training, the implementation of adjustable weight-bearing brace training can improve the hip function scores and the weight-bearing ability scores of the patients with postoperative rehabilitation of osteoporotic femoral intertrochanteric fractures, and reduce the VAS scores and the incidence of complications. Moreover,it is superior to simple routine rehabilitation training.
