Comparison of effects of neuroendoscopic hard channel minimally invasive surgery and small bone window craniotomy hematoma removal in treatment of patients with chronic subdural hematoma
Objective:To compare effects of neuroendoscopic hard channel minimally invasive surgery and small bone window craniotomy hematoma removal in treatment of patients with chronic subdural hematoma. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 60 patients with chronic subdural hematoma admitted to the hospital from February 2021 to March 2023.According to the random number table method, they were divided into study group and control group,30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with small bone window craniotomy hematoma removal, while the study group was treated with neuroendoscopic hard channel minimally invasive surgery. The levels of clinical symptom improvement indexes(contralateral hematoma thickness, midline shift amplitude),the good prognosis rate, and the incidence of postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results:The contralateral hematoma thickness and the midline shift amplitude in the study group were smaller than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The good prognosis rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:The neuroendoscopic hard channel minimally invasive surgery in the treatment of the patients with chronic subdural hematoma can improve the good prognosis rate and reduce the levels of clinical symptom improvement indexes. Moreover,it is superior to small bone window craniotomy hematoma removal.
