Comparison of application effects of Remimazolam and Propofol in general anesthesia in patients undergoing radical mastectomy for breast cancer
Objective:To compare application effects of Remimazolam and Propofol in general anesthesia in patients undergoing radical mastectomy for breast cancer. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 86 patients with breast cancer admitted to the hospital from January 2021 to May 2023.They were divided into control group(n=43)and study group(n=43)by using the random number table method.Propofol was used in the general anesthesia for the control group, while Remimazolam was used in the general anesthesia for the study group. The levels of anesthesia indexes(onset time of anesthesia, recovery time, residence time in anesthesia recovery room),postoperative recovery quality[sedation-agitation scale(SAS),confusion assessment method-Chinese revision(CAM-CR)]and hemodynamic indexes[mean arterial pressure(MAP),heart rate]at different time[5 min before anesthesia induction(T0),5 min after anesthesia induction(T1),end of surgery(T2)],and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The onset time of anesthesia, the recovery time and the residence time in anesthesia recovery room in the study group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The SAS and CAM-CR scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At T1 and T2,the levels of MAP and heart rate in the two groups were lower than those at T0,but those in the study group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,the incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Remimazolam in general anesthesia for the patients undergoing radical mastectomy can improve the levels of hemodynamic indexes, the postoperative recovery quality scores, and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions. Moreover,it is superior to Propofol.
