Effects of Ergometrine maleate in treatment of patients with postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine inertia
Objective:To observe effects of Ergometrine maleate in treatment of patients with postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine inertia. Methods:The clinical data of 68 patients with postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine inertia admitted to this hospital from 2021 to 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. According to different treatment methods, they were divided into control group and observation group,34 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Misoprostol, while the observation group was treated with Ergometrine maleate on the basis of that of the control group. The clinical efficacy, the levels of oxidative stress indexes[superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA)]before and after the treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions 72 h after the treatment, and the incidence of poor uterine involution were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 100.00% (34/34),which was higher than 82.35% (28/34) of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After the treatment, the MDA levels of the two groups were lower than those before the treatment, and that in the study group was lower than that in the control group;the SOD levels of the two groups were higher than those before the treatment, and that in the study group was higher than that in the control group;and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). The incidence of poor uterine involution in the observation group was 2.94% (1/34),which was lower than 23.53% (8/34) in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions:On the basis of Misoprostol treatment,Ergometrine maleate can improve the total effective rate of treatment, improve the levels of oxidative stress indexes and reduce the incidence of uterine involution in the patients with postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine inertia. Moreover,it is superior to simple Misoprostol treatment.
