Effects of Norethisterone combined with Progesterone in treatment of patients with perimenopausal abnormal uterine bleeding
Objective:To observe effects of Norethisterone combined with Progesterone in treatment of patients with perimenopausal abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB). Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 86 patients with perimenopausal AUB admitted to the hospital from August 2020 to August 2023. According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group,43 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Progesterone, while the observation group was treated with Norethisterone on the basis of that of the control group. The clinical efficacy, the sex hormone[follicle stimulating hormone (FSH),luteinizing hormone (LH),estradiol (E2)]levels,the endometrial thickness, and the menstrual volume[pictorial blood loss assessment chart (PBAC)]score before and after the treatment, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.35% (41/43),which was higher than 79.07% (34/43) of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After the treatment, the levels of FSH,LH,E2 and other sex hormone indexes in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment, those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After the treatment, the endometrial thickness levels and the PBAC scores of the two groups were lower than those before the treatment, those in the observation were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). However, there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusions:Norethisterone combined with Progesterone in the treatment of the perimenopausal AUB patients can improve the total effective rate of treatment, and reduce the levels of sex hormone, the endometrial thickness and the PBAC scores. Moreover,it is superior to simple Progesterone treatment.
