Status quo and influencing factors of self transcendence in elderly patients with stable bronchial asthma
Objective:To analyze status quo and influencing factors of self transcendence in elderly patients with stable bronchial asthma. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted on 165 elderly patients with stable bronchial asthma admitted to the hospital from January 2020 to January 2022. The self transcendence scale (STS) was used to evaluate the self transcendence levels of these patients. Multivariate linear regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of self transcendence in the elderly patients with stable bronchial asthma. Results:The STS score of the 165 elderly patients with stable bronchial asthma was (45.16±4.51). There were no significant differences in the STS scores among the elderly patients with stable bronchial asthma with different genders, personal annual income, medical payment methods,pre-retirement occupation, religious beliefs, household registration, course of disease, glucocorticoid use,and combined use of Montelukast sodium (P>0.05). The STS scores of the elderly patients with stable bronchial asthma who were older than 70 years old, with junior high school education or below, with unmarried/divorced/widowed marital status, with negative coping style, and with frequency of participating in collective activities less than 3 times/week were lower than those of other types of patients, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Multivariate linear regression showed that age>70 years old, junior high school education and below, marital status of unmarried/divorced/widowed,and negative coping style were all risk factors for low self transcendence level in the elderly patients with stable bronchial asthma (P<0.05). Conclusions:Age>70 years old, junior high school education and below, marital status of unmarried/divorced/widowed,and negative coping style are the risk factors for low self transcendence level in the elderly patients with stable bronchial asthma.
