Effects of Pranoprofen combined with Azelastine eye drops in treatment of patients with allergic conjunctivitis
Objective:To observe effects of Pranoprofen combined with Azelastine eye drops in treatment of patients with allergic conjunctivitis (AC). Methods:102 patients with AC treated in this hospital from March 2021 to March 2023 were selected for the prospective study. They were divided into study group and control group by using the random number table method,51 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Azelastine eye drops,while the study group was treated with Pranoprofen eye drops on the basis of that of the control group. The treatment effects,the tear film stability indexes[tear film breakup time (BUT),tear secretion test (SⅠt),corneal fluorescein staining (FL)]levels,the eye symptoms (foreign body sensation,photophobia,eye itching,tears) scores,and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment. Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 92.16% (47/51),which was higher than 72.55% (37/51) of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After the treatment,the SⅠt and BUT of the two groups were longer than those before the treatment,and those in the study group were longer than those in the control group;the FL scores of the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,and that in the study group was lower than that in the control group;and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After the treatment,the scores of eye symptoms such as foreign body sensation,photophobia,eye itching and tears in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,and those in the study group were lower than the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusions:Pranoprofen combined with Azelastine in the treatment of the AC patients can improve the total effective rate of treatment,improve the levels of tear film stability indexes,and reduce the eye symptom scores. Moreover,it is superior to simple Azelastine treatment.
