Effects of Suhuang Zhike capsules combined with Theophylline sustained-release tablets in treatment of patients with acute attack of asthma
Objective:To observe effects of Suhuang Zhike capsules combined with Theophylline sustained-release tablets in treatment of patients with acute attack of asthma. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 78 patients with acute attack of asthma admitted to this hospital from April 2022 to March 2024. According to the random number table method,they were divided into study group and control group,39 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Theophylline sustained-release tablets,while the study group was treated with Suhuang Zhike capsules on the basis of that of the control group. The disappearance time of clinical symptoms,the levels of airway remodeling indexes[transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1),extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase (ERK),matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9),vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)],the disease severity[asthma control test (ACT)]score,the lung function indexes[forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1),forced vital capacity (FVC)]before and after the treatment,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The disappearance time of clinical symptoms such as chest wheezing,shortness of breath,wheezing,chest tightness and cough in the study group was shorter than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After the treatment,the levels of TGF-β1,ERK,MMP-9 and VEGF in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,those in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The ACT scores of the two groups were higher than those before the treatment,that in the study group was higher than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After the treatment,the levels of FEV1 and FVC in the two groups were higher than those before the treatment,those in the study group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusions:Suhuang Zhike capsules combined with Theophylline Sustained-release Tablets can improve the ACT scores and the lung function index levels,shorten the disappearance time of clinical symptoms,and reduce the levels of airway remodeling indexes in the patients with acute attack of asthma. Moreover,it is superior to simple Theophylline sustained-release tablets treatment.
