Effects of Cangfu Daotan decoction combined with Clomiphene citrate in treatment of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome infertility of phlegm-damp stagnation type
Objective:To observe effects of Cangfu Daotan decoction combined with Clomiphene citrate in treatment of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome infertility of phlegm-damp stagnation type. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 74 patients with polycystic ovary syndrome infertility of phlegm-damp stagnation type admitted to this hospital from December 2021 to November 2022. They were divided into study group and control group according to the random number table method,37 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Clomiphene citrate,while the study group was treated with Cangfu Daotan decoction on the basis of that of the control group. The clinical efficacy,the sex hormone indexes[follicle stimulating hormone (FSH),estradiol (E2),luteinizing hormone (LH)]levels and the TCM syndrome score before and after the treatment,the ovarian volume,the ovulation rate,the pregnancy rate,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 89.19％ (33/37),which was higher than 70.27％ (26/37) of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After the treatment,the levels of FSH,LH and E2 in the two groups were higher than those before the treatment,those in the study group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The bilateral ovarian volume levels of the two groups were smaller than those before the treatment,those in the study group were smaller than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The ovulation rate and the pregnancy rate of the study group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of TCM syndromes such as menstrual disorders,body fat and hairy,mental fatigue and limb heaviness in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,those in the study group were lower than the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusions:Cangfu Daotan decoction combined with Clomiphene citrate can improve the total effective rate,ovulation rate,pregnancy rate and sex hormone index levels,reduce the ovarian volume and the TCM syndrome scores in the treatment of the patients with polycystic ovary syndrome infertility of phlegm-damp stagnation type. Moreover,it is superior to simple Clomiphene citrate treatment.
