Effects of Tiaodu Lijin acupuncture combined with massage in treatment of patients with lumbar disc herniation
Objective:To observe effects of Tiaodu Lijin acupuncture combined with massage in treatment of patients with lumbar disc herniation (LDH). Methods:The clinical data of 98 patients with LDH admitted to this hospital from January 2023 to January 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. According to different treatment methods,they were divided into study group (n=49) and control group (n=49). The control group was treated with massage,while the study group was treated with Tiaodu Lijin acupuncture on the basis of that of the control group. The clinical efficacy,the lumbar ranges of motion,the lumbar function[low back pain Japanese Orthopaedic Association score (JOA),Oswestry dysfunction index (ODI)]score,the pain degree[visual analogue scale (VAS)]score before and after the treatment were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was 93.88％ (46/49),which was higher than 79.59％ (39/49) in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The lumbar ranges of motion of right flexion,left flexion,flexion and extension in the two groups were biger than those before the treatment,those in the study group were biger than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The JOA scores of the two groups were higher than those before the treatment,and that in the study group was higher than that in the control group;the ODI scores of the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,that in the study group was lower than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Further,the VAS scores of the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,that in the study group was lower than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions:Tiaodu Lijin acupuncture combined with massage in the treatment of the LDH patients can improve the total effective rate and lumbar range of motion,improve the lumbar function scores,and reduce the pain degree scores. Moreover,it is superior to simple massage therapy.
