Efficiency of serum CRP,ALB and CAR levels in diagnosis of poor prognosis in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome undergoing ventilation therapy
Objective:To analyze efficiency of C-reactive protein (CRP),albumin (ALB) and CRP/ALB (CAR) levels in diagnosis of poor prognosis in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) undergoing ventilation therapy. Methods:The clinical data of 140 patients with ARDS undergoing ventilation therapy in this hospital from 2019 to 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the patients prognosis, they were divided into poor group (n=52) and good group (n=88). The levels of serum CRP,ALB and CAR were compared between the two groups. The correlations among the serum CRP,ALB,CAR levels and poor prognosis in the patients with ARDS undergoing ventilation therapy were analyzed by point biserial correlation analysis. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was drawn to analyze the efficiencies of the serum CRP,ALB and CAR levels in the diagnosis of poor prognosis in patients with ARDS undergoing ventilation therapy. Results:The levels of CRP and CAR in the poor group were higher than those in the good group, the level of ALB was lower than that in the good group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The Pearson correlation analysis showed showed that the CRP and CAR levels were positively correlated with the poor prognosis in the patients with ARDS undergoing ventilation therapy (r>0,P<0.05),while the level of ALB was negatively correlated with the poor prognosis (r<0,P<0.05). ROC curve showed that the areas under the curve of the CRP,ALB and CAR levels in the diagnosis of the poor prognosis in the patients with ARDS undergoing ventilation therapy were 0.808,0.783 and 0.864,separately,all of which had good diagnostic efficiency, and the diagnostic efficiency of the CAR level was higher than those of the CRP and ALB levels. Conclusions:The efficiency of CAR level detection in the diagnosis of the poor prognosis in the patients with ARDS undergoing ventilation therapy is higher than those of the CRP and ALB levels.
