Comparison of effects of ultrasound-guided puncture sclerotherapy and laparoscopic cystectomy in treatment of patients with ovarian endometriosis cysts
Objective:To compare effects of ultrasound-guided puncture sclerotherapy and laparoscopic cystectomy in treatment of patients with ovarian endometriosis cysts. Methods:The clinical data of 92 patients with ovarian endometriosis cyst admitted to this hospital from June 2022 to June 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. According to different treatment methods, they were divided into observation group and control group,46 cases in each group. The control group was treated with laparoscopic cystectomy, while the observation group was treated with ultrasound-guided puncture sclerotherapy. The hospitalization time, the visual analogue scale (VAS) scores at different time (1,3,7 d after the treatment),the serum ovarian function index[follicle stimulating hormone (FSH),luteinizing hormone (LH),estradiol]levels, the MOS 36-item short form health survey (SF-36) score, and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results:The hospitalization time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). At 3,7 days after the treatment, the VAS scores of the two groups were lower than those 1 d after the treatment, those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Three months after the treatment, the scores of SF-36 physical pain, general health status, social function and physiological function dimensions in the two groups were higher than those before the treatment, those in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the levels of serum FSH,LH,estradiol before and after the treatment and the incidence of complications after the treatment between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusions:Ultrasound-guided puncture sclerotherapy for the patients with ovarian endometriosis cysts can improve the SF-36 scores, shorten the hospitalization time, and reduce the VAS scores. Moreover,it is superior to laparoscopic cystectomy.
