Application effects of nursing based on Watson care theory in peritoneal dialysis patients with renal failure
Objective:To observe application effects of nursing based on Watson care theory in peritoneal dialysis patients with renal failure. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 104 patients with renal failure undergoing peritoneal dialysis admitted to this hospital from January 2022 to January 2023. According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group,52 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, while the observation group received the nursing based on Watson care theory. The sleep quality[Richards Campbell sleep questionnaire (RCSQ)]score, the negative emotion[self-rating anxiety scale (SAS)]score before and after the nursing, the incidence of complications, and the nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results:After the nursing, the RCSQ scores of difficulty in falling asleep, sleep depth, night awakening, difficulty in falling asleep again and overall sleep quality in the two groups were higher than those before the nursing, those in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After the nursing, the SAS scores of the two groups were lower than those before the nursing, that in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidence of complications in the observation group was 5.77% (3/52),which was lower than 19.23% (10/52) in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Further, the nursing satisfaction of the observation group was 92.31% (48/52),which was higher than 76.92% (40/52) of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions:The nursing based on Watson care theory in patients with renal failure undergoing peritoneal dialysis can improve their sleep quality, reduce their negative emotions, reduce the incidence of complications, and improve the nursing satisfaction. Moreover,it is superior to the routine nursing.
