Herpes zoster,Zhuang language called it"BenBeiLang",it is a cluster of skin herpes,snake like distribution as the main clinical characteristics,often accompanied by severe pain.A considerable number of patients will have postherpetic neuralgia,which seriously affects the quality of life and leads to anxiety,depression and other adverse states.The geographical and climatic aspects of Lingnan determined that Zhuang medicine has a unique theory and experience in the treatment of herpes zoster,with unique advantages.In this review,under the guidance of Zhuang medical theories,the possible anti-inflammatory and antiviral mechanism of Zanthoxylum nitidum(Roxb.)DC、Lonicera japonica Thunb,Cynanchum paniculatum(Bunge)Kitagawa,Densefruit Pittany Root-bark and Polygonum perfoliatum Linn in the treatment of herpes zoster was discussed,which provided more valuable experience for further optimization of herpes zoster treatment and theoretical support for the development and promotion of ethnic medicine.
