Atherosclerotic disease is the pathological basis of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.With the accelerated aging of the population,the improvement of the living standard and the innovation of dietary habits,the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases has been increasing year by year,which has seriously jeopardized the health of human beings.In western medicine,lipid-regulating drugs,antioxidant drugs,antiplatelet drugs,calcium channel blockers or surgery are commonly used to treat atherosclerotic diseases.By searching and organizing the ancient books of Mongolian medicine and the relevant literature in recent years,we summarize the etiology of carotid artery atherosclerosis,symptoms and manifestations,treatment principles and preventive care.
