Chronic pain is a common symptom among elderly patients,often exacerbated by the decline in organ function and weakening of the immune system as they age,significantly impacting their quality of life and imposing additional burdens on both families and society.While Western medications provide effective pain relief,the elderly often have multiple coexisting health conditions,restricting the options for pharmacological treatment.Furthermore,advanced age itself increases the risk of medication side effects.In contrast,Zhuang Medicine external therapies are known for their broad applicability,high safety profile,and minimal side effects,making them widely used clinically.This article reviews the recent advancements in the application of Zhuang Medicine external therapie.
