How Does Culture Prosper Villages? The Implementation Logic of Local Culture Empowering Rural Revitalization
Rural culture is not only the basic element of rural development, but also an important driving force that can lead and promote rural revitalization. However, traditional cultural development models often face the difficulty of cultural assimilation due to their reliance on a single path of localization, while the composite path that emphasizes complementary advantages is also questioned in practice due to the lack of sustainable driving force.Taking the"structure-function"analysis of rural local culture as the framework, and the history of"culture prosper villages"in Mazhuang Village in Northern Jiangsu province as the object of study, this paper explores the implementation logic of local culture empowering rural revitalization. The study indicates that the cultural revitalization of villages is the process of cultivating, innovating, and transforming the value of local cultural capital, implying the role transformation of local culture from a"target"to a"tool".The process involves two coherent logics:the first is the logic of structural aggregation, that is,building rural cultural community, creating rural cultural space, and reshaping rural cultural order through the structural embedding and integration of loose local culture,to realize the revitalization of rural culture;the second is the logic of functional resonance, where local cultural capital serves as the link to deeply connect and empower governance elements such as rural talents, industries, organizations, and ecology,to realize the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas. The main value of this paper is to achieve a theoretical connection between"cultural revitalization"and"rural revitalization"from the perspective of cultural capital, and refne the joint creation mode rooted in the grassroots governance practice in China, providing a reference for the construction of an independent knowledge system for rural revitalization in the new era.
