Research hot spots and trends of general practitioner post competency in China based on Citespace
Objective To examine the current hot spots and evolutionary trends in the field of general practitioner(GP)post competency,and to provide reference for relevant future study in the new era.Methods Citespace software was used to conduct a co-occurrence network analysis of the literature in the field of GP post competency from 1997-2022 and to visualize the distribution of publications,authors,research institutions and keywords in the field.Results A total of 392 papers were included in this study,with an overall upward trend in the number of publications,and some internal collaboration among authors and institutions,but weak connection a-mong communities.The research on GP post competency has experienced three stages:germination,exploratory development,and application development.The hot spots currently included the construction of multi-dimensional index model for post competency,GP training from the perspective of post competency,the application of compe-tency evaluation,and multi-disciplinary,multi-perspective and multi-field researches.Conclusions To enhance the quality of primary healthcare teams,it is imperative to expand the dimensions of post competency research,clarify the role of general practitioners from a post competency perspective,delve further into competency assess-ment,including longitudinal evaluation of the non-clinical competency of general practitioners,and apply the find-ings of competency research to continuously improve the input mechanism.
