Health literacy and knowledge acquisition of residents in key counties for rural revitalization in Guizhou Province
Objective To explore the status quo of health literacy and health knowledge acquisition of ru-ral residents in the national-level rural revitalization key support counties of Guizhou Province in 2022,so as to provide basis for further targeted health education and to enhance residents'health literacy.Methods Using the method of multi-stage stratified sampling,the rural resident population aged 15~69 years old was selected from the key support counties for rural revitalization in Guizhou Province as research subjects.The national residents'health literacy monitoring questionnaire and self-designed questions about knowledge acquisition were used for car-rying out a questionnaire survey,using SPSS26.0 for statistical analysis.Results In 2022,the health literacy level of rural residents in key support counties of rural revitalization in Guizhou Province was 25.55%,which in-cluded basic knowledge and theories(28.24%),healthy lifestyle and behavior(43.06%),and health skills(14.47%).Among six types of problems about health literacy,scientific health viewpoint accounted for 46.56%,infectious disease prevention and control 43.64%,chronic disease prevention and control 15.17%,safety and first aid 60.91%,primary medical literacy 23.22%,and health information literacy 21.82%.The re-sults of univariate analysis showed that there were significant differences in health literacy among survey respond-ents of different ages(x2=162.175,P<0.001),and among survey respondents of different educational back-grounds(x2=133.309,P<0.001).Multifactorial logistic regression analysis results showed that the level of health literacy decreased with increasing age,and with 15-24 age group as reference,health literacy was lower a-mong people over 45 years of age(OR=0.098,95%Cl:0.048-0.201).Health literacy level was positively correlated with educational level,and with elementary school education and below as reference,the highest level of health literacy was found among those with college/bachelor's degree or above(OR=8.957,95%Cl:4.619-17.370).Conclusions The health literacy level of rural residents in key support counties of rural revitalization in Guizhou Province in 2022 is lower than average level.Targeted health education programs should be formulated to improve their health literacy.
