Research hotspots and trend analysis on the competency of medical teachers in China based on CiteSpace software
Objective To analyze the current research status and development trends in the medical teacher team construction field in China and provide reference for the study of medical teacher competence.Meth-ods A retrieval based screening of relevant literature on the competence of medical school teachers was construc-ted using the China National Knowledge Infrastructure database,VIP Information Resource system,and Wanfang database.The literature was visualized and analyzed using CiteSpace 6.1.R6 and NoteExpress software.Results Atotal of 169 relevant literatures were included,and the overall number of publications showed a fluctuating up-ward trend from 2009 to 2024.The leading publishing journals were medical journals,and the journal with the highest number of publications is China Continuing Medical Education.The research institutions are primarily uni-versities,and the collaboration network between institutions and authors is relatively scattered and low density.Through the analysis of keywords collinearity,clustering,and prominent words,we have summarized the research hotspots in medical school teacher competence as the problems and intervention strategies of medical teacher com-petence,the construction of competence models,and the evaluation index system.Conclusion The quantity and quality of literature on the competence of medical teachers in China need to be improved.Suggest using keyword collinearity,clustering,and cutting-edge research analysis as a theoretical basis to supplement basic research on the evaluation index system in medical school teacher competency and explore a suitable job competency model for medical school teachers.
