The choice and influencing factors of basic medical insurance for ethnic minority migrants
Objective To know about the selection and influencing factors of basic medical insurance for ethnic minority migrants,and to provide suggestions for improving the participation rate of ethnic minority mi-grants.Methods Data from the 2018 China Migrants Dynamic Survey(CMDS)were sorted out and analyzed.Chi-square test was performed for single factor analysis and unordered multiclass logistic regression for multivari-ate analysis.Results Among the 12 318 ethnic minority migrants,2 241(18.2%)participated in the basic medical insurance for urban employees and 9 191(74.6%)participated in the basic medical insurance for urban and rural residents,with a basic medical insurance coverage rate of 92.8%.The regression analysis results showed that when the migrants chose between participation in basic medical insurance for urban employees and non-participation,their educational level,marital status,monthly income,mobility range,inflow area,settlement intention,and health education status were statistically significant(P<0.05);when they chose between partici-pation in basic medical insurance for urban and rural residents and non-participation,their employment status,monthly income,mobility range,inflow area,settlement intention,and main occupation had statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusions The overall coverage rate of basic medical insurance for ethnic minority migrants can still be improved.Emphasis should be placed on educating the migrants,fully considering the characteristics of the migrants,and improving their awareness and ability to participate in insurance.
