Tristeza caused by citrus tristeza virus(CTV)is one of the most destructive citrus disease in the world,which is mainly spread by several aphid species and bud-grafting.With the development of citrus indus-try,this virus outbroke in some citrus production areas of China,resulting serious economic losses.This review focuses on the origin,biological type,transmission,protein function,interaction between CTV and host,the mechanism of stem pitting formation and aphid transmission,and control methods of CTV based on the repor-ted literatures to provide reference for research and effective control of tristeza in the future.
