Influence of different substrates on growth of Poncirus trifoliata container seedling
In order to screen the suitable substrate for the breeding of Poncirus trifoliata rootstock,23 combi-nations of red loam soil, coconut peat, peat and organic fertilizer were used as substrates to cultivate P.trifoli-ata container seedlings. The plant height, stem diameter, root length, root surface area, root diameter, root vol-ume,root tip number, fresh weight of aboveground part, fresh weight of underground part, dry weight of aboveground part and dry weight of underground part were compared. The results showed that the substrate S15(red loam soil∶coconut peat∶peat∶organic matter=7∶2∶0∶1,by volume, the same below)increased the stem diameter, plant height and dry weight of the underground part of P.trifoliata seedlings by 67.40%,86.79%and 82.05%compared to that of control(red loam soil),respectively. The substrate S7(coconut peat∶organic matter=7∶3)increased the total root length by 51.30%compared with control.Compared with control, the substrate S11(coconut peat∶peat=7∶3)increased the fresh weight of underground part and dry weight of aboveground part of seedlings by 105.48%and 207.14%,respectively.The substrate treatment S14(coconut peat∶peat=5∶5)increased the dry weight of underground part of the seedlings by 74.35%.Con-sidering the cost and benefit comprehensively, substrate S15(red loam soil∶coconut peat∶peat∶organic matter=7∶2∶0∶1)was selected as the most suitable substrate formula for the breeding of P.trifoliata seedlings.
