Study on the growth and decline regulation of adult Bactrocera dorsalis in main ap-ple production regions of Zhaotong,Yunnan province
To elucidate the population dynamics of adult Bactrocera dorsalis in apple orchards of Zhaotong,the quantity of B.dorsalis in apple orchards in Shouwang,Yongfeng and Sujianyuan Town were continuously mo-nitored from 2020 to 2022 by Steiner traps with methyl eugenol attractants.The results indicated that B.dor-salis occurred seasonally in the apple orchards of Zhaoyang District.No adults were trapped from mid-Decem-ber to April of the following year.The population remained at a lower level from May to July,then significant-ly increased and peaked from August to September.After October,the population rapidly declined,until early December,the population dropped to zero.The main occurrence period of B.dorsalis in the apple orchards of Zhaoyang District was from August to September,which is also the critical period for control of B.dorsalis.
