Effect of 68.75%mancozeb·famoxadone WG on control of citrus melanose
Citrus melanose caused by Diaporthe citri is one of the most serious diseases affecting citrus mar-ketability and requires spraying of fungicides 4-5 times a year for control.Field tests were conducted in Huan-gyan and Changshan,Zhejiang Province,to determine the effect of 68.75%mancozeb·famoxadone WG(a mixture of 6.25%famoxadone and 62.5%mancozeb)on control of citrus melanose. The results showed that the control effect by spraying 68.75%mancozeb·famoxadone WG during fruit growing season was 84.79%in test site of Huangyan by 5 sprays with 500 times dilution, and 74.10%in test site of Changshan by 4 sprays with 800 times dilution, which the control effect was similar to that of the conventional recommended fungicide mancozeb. It is suggested that first spray of 500-800 times dilution of 68.75%mancozeb·famoxadone WG af-ter 2/3 of the citrus flower faded, and then spray once every 20-25 days for a total of 4-5 times could effective-ly control citrus melanose.
