In order to explore the effect of biocontrol bacteria on kiwifruit soft rot, three strains(Bacillus velezensis,B.halotolerans and Paenibacillus polymyxa)of biocontrol bacteria obtained in the previous study were used for inhibition tests, control experiments on kiwifruit soft rot under inoculation and natural condi-tions.The effects of these strains on expression levels of pathogenesis-related genes in kiwifruit fruit were studied. The results showed that the inhibition rate of P2-1,PL7 and NL4 strain on mycelial growth of Botry-osphaeria dothidea was 83.49%,74.82%,and 49.33%,respectively.The inhibitory effect of P2-1 was the best, followed by PL7,and NL4 was the worst.Three strains of biocontrol bacteria had inhibitory effects on the inoculated kiwifruit soft rot, among which P2-1 had the best effect, followed by PL7,and NL4 had the lowest effect. All the biocontrol strains could significantly reduce the natural incidence rate of kiwifruit soft rot,and the incidence rate of P2-1 treatment was the lowest. The biocontrol bacteria treatment had no effect on the quality of kiwifruit fruit. The biocontrol bacteria treatment significantly enhanced the expression levels of genes(PR1,MdPR5 and SOD)in kiwifruit fruit. These results could provide reference for the development of P2-1,PL7 and NL4 as biological agents for control kiwifruit soft rot.
