Analysis of carotenoid metabolism during the fruit development of two Dajiao varie-ties
In order to explore the metabolism regulation of carotenoid in two different types of local Dajiao in Guizhou Province,HPLC-MS/MS was used to qualitatively and quantitatively detect carotenoids in the fruits of orange-yellow flesh Dajiao BGD and white flesh Dajiao BWD,and the intraspecific temporal and contempora-neous interspecific differences of composition and accumulation of carotenoid were analyzed.The results showed that 32 and 28 kinds of carotenoid were detected in the fruits of BGD and BWD,respectively.The ac-cumulation of carotenoids in the three stages of fruit development of BGD was significantly higher than that of BWD,and the carotenoid content of BGD was 7.54 times of BWD at the maturity stage.The synthesis of ca-rotenoids mainly occurred in the middle and late stages of fruit development in BGD,and its content increased first and then decreased,while the carotenoids content of white-fleshed Dajiao continued to decrease.Except for the lutein content at the young fruit stage,the content of β-carotene was the highest in BGD,and β-caro-tene,a-carotene and lutein were the main carotenoid components.Lutein,β-carotene,and vioxanthin-myris-tate-phoroate are the main carotenoid components of BWD.The results of this study lay a foundation for revea-ling the accumulation mechanism of carotenoids in two Dajiao fruits.
