Analysis of present status of pomegranate pesticide registration in China
By retrieving pesticides registered for pomegranate crop from China Pesticide Information Network,the registration quantity,categories,active ingredients,formulation,toxicity,and targets were analyzed.The re-sults showed that t67 pesticides had been registered on pomegranates as of June 8,2023,with insecticides,fun-gicides,and plant growth regulators accounting for 74.63％,23.88％,and 1.49％,respectively.The number of registered products for controlling peach borer and green stink bug is relatively high.In addition,these regis-tered pesticides involved five types of formulations,eight active ingredients,and three levels of toxicity.Water distpersible granul and suspension concentrates are the predominant formulations,and emamectin benzoate and lambda-cyhalothrin are the most common active ingredients.The majority of pesticide products are classified as low or moderate toxicity.Recommendations are proposed to accelerate new pesticide registrations,optimize product structures,enhance formulation diversity,increase the number of biopesticide,strengthen basic re-search,and promote green prevention and control technologies,aiming to provide scientific evidence for pest management,rational use of pesticides and pesticide registration management.
