Introduction performance of extremely early-maturing lychee variety Keji No.1 in Lingshui County,Hainan Province
To further optimize the variety structure of lychee in Hainan,fully utilize the early-maturing advantage of Hainan lychee production areas,breed and promote early-maturing lychee varieties,in 2018,the lychee variety Keji No.1 was introduced to Lingshui County,Hainan Province by top-grafting.With extremely early-maturing lychee variety Guizaoli as control,the botanical traits,phenological period,economic traits,and stress resistance of these two varieties in Lingshui County,Hainan Province were compared and analyzed.The results showed that the fruit of Keji No.1 lychee was elliptical shaped,with dark red peel,average single fruit weight of 19.4 g,the fruit type index of 1.05,average total soluble solids content of 16.2%,average edible rate of 63%,and some of seeds aborted.The fruits matured from late February to mid March,about 15 days earlier than Guizaoli in the same region.It is an extremely early-maturing lychee suitable for appropriate planting and extension in Hainan.
