Introduction performance and cultivation techniques of a new apple variety Fuji-uhong in the old course of the Yellow River
Fujiuhong is a new medium-ripening apple variety bred by the apple breeding team of Qingdao Agri-cultural University by crossing New World with Pink Lady.It was introduced to the old course of the Yellow River by Shangqiu Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences in 2017 for trial planting.The results of sev-eral years experimental observation and research on supporting cultivation techniques showed that the single fruit weight of this variety was 292.2 g,and fruit shape was round cylindrical with bright red surface at ripe-ning.The flesh was white,dense and crisp,with sour-sweet flavor and superior quality.The flesh was not prone to browning,with soluble solid content of 13.1％,citric acid content of 0.26％,and peeled fruit hard-ness of 8.5 kg/cm2.The fruits matured at early of September with good resistance to disease,and were suit-able for bag-free cultivation.This variety is suitable for promotion and planting in the old course of the Yellow River.
