Experimental study on mechanical properties of ginger plants
In view of the problem of easy fracture of ginger stalk during the harvesting process of pulling ginger, shearing, squeezing and tensile tests were used to determine the mechanical parameters of ginger plant pulling, and factors such as clamping position and loading speed were found to affect ginger plants. It was found that the shear strength of ginger stalks decreased with the increase of sampling position and loading speed;the compressive strength increased with the increase of sampling position, slightly increased and then decreased with the increase of loading speed. The average shear strength and compressive strength of the culm were 0.85 MPa and 3.29 MPa,respectively. The tensile strength of the binding site of ginger tuber and ginger stalk was significantly affected by the clamping position, showing a quadratic function relationship, showing a trend of first decreasing and then increasing with the increase of loading speed, and the average tensile strength was 0.6 MPa.Through the optimization of the best shearing and pressing position and the best lifting position of ginger stalk,it was determined that the position with greater shearing and pressing force was 393.9 mm above the junction point, and the force at the junction point of ginger stalk and ginger tuber was determined. The largest position was 400mm above the junction point. The optimal shearing and pressing positions of ginger plants tended to be consistent with the optimal pulling positions, and the compressive strength of ginger stalks was much greater than the shearing strength. Therefore, choosing the appropriate clamping method and position can reduce the shear force on the ginger stalks, achieve the effect of smooth ginger pulling, and provide data support for the overall design of the pulling type ginger harvester.
