Objective To explore the effects of frozen sperm for insemination on the day of oocyte pick-up (OPU) on embryo quality in vitro fertilization-embryo transplantation. Methods Seventy-five male patients with sperm cryopreservation ahead of time who were retrospectively analyzed from January 2012 to December 2014, were divided into group A (45 cases, fresh semen, group B(30 cases, frozen semen). The rates of fertilization, cleavage, high quality embryo were comparatively analyzed between two groups. Results there were no statistical differences between group A and group B in the oocyte numbers, the maturing oocytes rate, the normal fertilization rate, the cell number of embryothe, the fragment rate,good-quality embryo rate and blastocyst formation rate(P>0.05).Conclusion This study suggests that frozen semen in advance do not affect the embryo quality and potentiality development for the patients who were hard to procure semen on the day of oocyte retrieval.
