Application value of coaxial needle technology in transperineal prostate biopsy
Objective To compare the detection rate and postoperative complication rate of prostate cancer by transrectal puncture and coaxial needle technology-based transperineal puncture, and evaluate the application value of coaxial needle technique in transperineal prostate biopsy. Methods A total of 183 patients who underwent ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy in the department of ultrasound medicine in our hospital were divided into the transrectal puncture group(n=102)and the transperineal puncture group(n=81).The total detection rate of prostate cancer, the incidence of postoperative complications and the detection rate of prostate cancer at different ages,TPSA and PV subgroups were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in the detection rates of prostate cancer and clinically significant prostate cancer between the transperineal puncture group and the transrectal puncture group(P>0.05).Moreover,there was no significant difference in the detection rate of prostate cancer between the transperineal puncture group and transrectal puncture group at different ages,TPSA and PV subgroups. The incidences of bloody stool, puncture site pain and postoperative fever in the transrectal group were 10.8%,12.7%and 8.8%,respectively,which were significantly higher than those in the transperineal puncture group(all P<0.05).However,there were no significant differences in the incidences of hematuria and dysuria between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Coaxial needle technology in transperineal prostate biopsy can ensure the effectiveness of puncture, also reduce trauma and the incidence of bloody stool, pain and infection after puncture, which is worth popularizing in clinic.
